2026 HCC Missions Faith Promise
HCC’s Missions Faith Promise is a part of our mission to Love God, Love People, and Make Disciples. Faith Promise is a personal pledge from you to God, that with His help you will faithfully support missions. Each November, the HCC family make anonymous promises to support missions for the coming year. The money collected for Faith Promise is kept separate from the church’s General Fund.
Our goal for missions in 2026 is $150,000.00.

Team Expansion: A & T North Africa
Our mission is to see Christ known and glorified in every corner of the world, especially among the more than 7,000 unreached people groups. We are committed to the New Testament vision of the Church, to unity for the sake of global evangelism, and to the enduring principles of our Christian heritage—speaking where the Bible speaks and acting in love in all things. We recognize that while we are not the only Christians, we aim to be Christians only, grounded fully in Scripture.
Driven by a desire for every person to hear the gospel, we focus on evangelism, church planting, and disciple-making movements. We work exclusively among unreached populations, motivated solely by God’s glory. Prayer fuels our passion and purpose, and multiplying faith communities lies at the heart of our calling and the Great Commission.

Team Expansion Spain: Ayala Family
Gabo and Barbara Ayala first sensed their call to missions more than 15 years ago in Caracas, Venezuela, where they grew up, came to faith, and helped plant churches alongside Team Expansion missionaries. In 2016, they moved to Granada in southern Spain, a country where secularism is rapidly increasing—about 20% of the population identifies as atheist or non-religious, and only 542 of Spain’s 8,000 villages have any Christian presence. Their team is part of an ambitious vision called “Coalition 1700,” a ten-year initiative to plant 1,700 simple churches across all 17 autonomous regions of Spain by uniting pastors, disciples, churches, missionaries, and mission agencies around a shared goal: filling Spain with the knowledge of the Gospel.
The Ayalas’ ministry begins with following Christ in their own home as they disciple their three children and model obedience to Scripture. From that foundation, they build relationships in their community through prayer walking in unreached towns, leading small groups and prison ministry, and engaging people through service, sports, hiking, and rock climbing—seeking to embody and share the love of Christ in everyday life.

Team Expansion Spain: Dionna Linn
Dionna has been serving as a missionary in Granada, Spain since May 2018, working with a team focused on launching a Disciple-Making and Church Planting Movement across the nation. Their ministry includes regular prayer walks through unreached towns, seeking people of peace and starting simple Bible studies that can grow into house churches.
Their online media ministry connects spiritual seekers throughout Spain with local disciple-makers who can walk with them on their faith journey. The team also partners with both new and seasoned believers, providing evangelism training, one-on-one discipleship, and long-distance support to equip Spanish Christians to reach their own people and fulfill the Great Commission.

A&J with Modern Day Missions: Making Disciples among Unengaged Muslims in an undisclosed location
A&J are a married couple who each spent nearly a decade serving cross-culturally as singles before uniting their lives and ministries. Since 2017, they have been making disciples among Muslims, working to spark and strengthen indigenous movements of disciples and house churches among unreached people groups. Their ministry spans Africa and Asia, where they share the Gospel with those who have never heard of Jesus, train local believers to do the same, and help lead prayer movements focused on the unreached. Transformed by the Good News themselves, they now seek prayer and financial partners to empower their ongoing work.
They serve in regions where following Jesus often brings persecution, and they have led various relief, development, business, and education initiatives to create new opportunities for the Kingdom. Through it all, their highest priority is building genuine relationships with unreached Muslims and sharing the love of Christ. As they begin their journey in ministry as a married couple, they are discerning where God will lead them next in their apostolic work. It is their joy to devote their lives to seeking Jesus and advancing His kingdom among nations with little or no access to the Gospel.

Renaissance Church: Jennifer and Aaron Johnson
Aaron and Jen have been serving in the church-planting movement in Florida since 2019. After settling in Lakewood Ranch in 2021, they launched Renaissance Christian Church in 2022 with the vision of planting a grassroots, disciple-making, disciple-replicating church. In a state filled with transplant families and a widespread lack of deep community, they believe God designed people to find true belonging in the church.
Aaron and Jen feel deeply called to reach their community with Jesus’ unending love and grace. As they build relationships with people from all spiritual backgrounds, their hearts continue to break for those far from God. Through intentional discipleship, prayer, and genuine care, many have learned more about Jesus, grown in their faith, or discovered Him for the first time through Renaissance Church. They remain profoundly grateful to HCC for helping make this ministry possible.

Strategic World Evangelism: Leonard Thompson
Strategic World Evangelism (SWE) was founded around 1970 by Leonard and Pamela Thompson, modeled after the Apostle Paul’s strategy of beginning evangelism in major urban centers and spreading outward. From its inception, SWE focused on reaching the un-evangelized upper and middle classes of India and Asia—particularly educated and influential leaders—through seed-planting ministry. Early efforts centered on direct preaching in major Indian cities, supported by extensive use of media, including shortwave radio broadcasts across Asia, printed magazines, booklets, tracts, and correspondence courses designed for those from non-Christian religions. These materials later became published books used widely for follow-up. SWE also complemented its evangelistic work with social outreach through a Home for the Aged, which initially provided free care.
From 2016 onward, significant transitions reshaped the ministry, including the passing of Pamela Thompson, increased travel demands on Leonard Thompson, and growing government restrictions and persecution of Christians in India. As shortwave radio declined, SWE shifted to television broadcasting and now airs six half-hour programs weekly in four languages—English, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi—reaching a potential audience of approximately 30 million viewers across South Asia and parts of the Middle East. Follow-up ministry is conducted through telephone counseling and a private, secure teaching website designed for seekers from non-Christian backgrounds. Despite challenges, SWE continues actively through media outreach, teaching, and published resources, united under its enduring proclamation and vision: Jesus is Lord.

TCM International
TCM International Institute equips indigenous Christian leaders through practical, graduate-level preparation designed to help them reach their own countries, cultures, and churches for Christ. Working closely with key leaders across Europe, Central Asia, and Africa, TCM provides a field-based learning environment tailored to bi-vocational adults who are already engaged in significant ministry roles.
By coming alongside believers who are already established in their communities, TCM can develop effective Christian leaders at a fraction of the cost of sending a U.S. missionary. Because these leaders already understand the local languages and cultures, they are able to minister effectively and are equipped for lifelong service.

Mashoko Christian Hospital
Mashoko Christian Hospital Medical Ministry is a non-profit mission hospital located at Mashoko Mission in the Bikita District of Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe. Founded in 1958 with roots dating back to missionary efforts in the 1930s and 1950s, the hospital exists to Preach, Teach, and Heal. It provides medical consultations and treatment—primarily free of charge—while intentionally integrating evangelism into daily operations through regular Gospel preaching for patients and staff. Alongside medical care, Mashoko has maintained a strong commitment to education through its School of Nursing, continuing its legacy of training healthcare professionals for service and ministry.
Established through the work of New Zealand Church of Christ missionaries and later American missionaries, including the Pembertons and Dr. Pruett, the hospital was founded on the vision of medical evangelism—demonstrating Christ’s love through compassionate, hands-on care. Leadership of the ministry has passed faithfully from Dr. Pruett to David and Eva Grubbs, then to Zindoga and Dinah Bungu, with plans for future leadership under Suspicion Mudzanire, a pastor, academic, and current Senior Chaplain and Director of Administration. Mashoko’s vision remains steadfast: to offer excellent healthcare in a way that reflects Jesus’ compassion, brings hope, and leads others to glorify God through both word and deed.

Pioneer Bible Translators: Jeff and Laura Wilhoit
Jeff and Laura continue to lead translation efforts as they work on adapting the completed Toma Bible into the neighboring Zialo language, currently focusing on the Gospel of Matthew. They recently received training on new software to speed up the process, with additional sessions planned for early next year. The Toma and Zialo translators also participated in a Pioneer Bible workshop in Guinea, joining 35 participants from 12 language programs. Pastor Jeremie Onivogui, the lead Toma translator, shared valuable insights on Scripture engagement among the Toma people and on his family’s personal Bible study practices. The team also had an unexpected opportunity to print and distribute 2026 calendars featuring Scripture in Toma and French, thanks to Pioneer Bible’s newly upgraded print shop.
Laura is enjoying her work as a translation consultant for seven other Guinean languages, while Jeff hopes to travel to Guinea in April to work with the Zialo team in person and participate in a review committee meeting for newly translated chapters of Matthew. They ask for prayer for smooth logistics and for peace in Guinea ahead of the December 28 elections. Jeff and Laura also celebrate that Pioneer Bible Translators has now grown to 1,046 people serving 157 languages spoken by over half a billion people in 41 countries, supported by a strong field workforce of both cross-cultural teammates and local colleagues.
